The
time to install
Solar or Wind generated electricity is now!
If you're hooked up to the
grid run your meter backwards. Nonpolluting, site by site power
generation is the future. Distributed generation enhances the Nation's
security and reduces pollution. You can help stop the proliferation
of centralized, fossil fuel and nuclear power plants by generating your
own power today. You can make a difference, even if you don't offset
your total consumption, by putting green power back into the grid
house by house, business by business, and reducing the "need"
for new power plants. If you find taking responsibility for your own
power generation is too daunting or expensive, then conserve
energy.
We're currently designing
several grid-tie packages that meet all utility specifications and safety
concerns.

Solwind:
A New Zealand/New Mexico hybrid. Vertical Axis Wind Generator (Darrieus
design), nearly silent.
Can produce 5 Kilowatts
with winds of only 22 mph. Starts generating power at 8 mph. Now available
in 3, 10 and 30 Kilowatt models, too. Specifications
An
uninterruptible system design can keep you powered up even when the
grid goes down.
You will need
a a battery bank to provide power if the grid goes down. Today's inverters
can handle the transition from grid to battery automatically. However,
batteries require attention. If you are not prepared to care for and
maintain your battery bank, then you will need to find someone who will.
The size of your battery bank and solar/wind installation
will depend on how much power your "mission critical" loads
draw and how long you feel you may need to go without
power from the grid. It is possible to design a system that can provide
power indefinitely completely independent of the grid
that's what us off-grid folk have been doing for years. Technological
improvements continue to make small scale power generation easier, safer
and more affordable.
